The city of Salisbury accepts (curbside) paper products, cans, glass jars, glass bottles, and plastic bottles.
Paper products:
They accepts newspapers/inserts/computer, white and colored paper/phone books/magazines/junk Mail. Directions: Put newspapers , etc. in a brown bag, plastic tote, or tie with string. Place Newspapers, etc. on top of/or beside your blue recycling bin. If it's raining, please hold them until the next pick up day.
Cans
Directions: Empty all cans. Metal lids (please push into can and crimp top)
Examples: Soft drink, beer, and juice cans, soup, pet food and vegetable cans.
Food and beverage jars and bottles (All colors of glass)
Directions: Empty jars and bottles, Lids and caps stay on containers, no need to remove labels Examples: Soft drinks, beer wine bottles, and spaghetti sauce jars.
Plastic Bottles
Narrow necked bottles
#1 and #2 recycling symbol on the bottom
Lids and caps stay on containers
Examples: Soft drinks, milk jugs, and laundry detergents.
They ask that you please rinse all bins weekly!

The City of Salisbury does NOT accept: plastic bags used in delivering papers, paper towels, metallic wrapping paper, waxed cardboard (cereal, pasta, frozen food boxes, etc.)

Attention serious recyclers
Additional recyclable items: Window envelopes, brown paper bags, chipped cardboard (cereal boxes, pasta boxes, etc.), non-ferrous metals (aluminum, tin, copper, brass, stainless steel, nickel), vinyl siding, aluminum siding, and lead acid batteries are accepted at HD Metals, (410) 546-1111.
White Goods: Appliances, refrigerators, stoves, washers, dryers, and air conditioners, follow the City Bulk Pick-up procedures or deposit at the County Landfill, (410) 548-4935.
Used Tires: passenger cars only, are accepted for a small fee, at Anderson Tire Co., (410) 749-5570, and Delaware Tire Center, (410)742-2171.
Clothing, crystal, clay pots, ceramics, mirrors, window glass, heat resistant ovenware, furniture, books, drinking glasses and toys are accepted at Goodwill Retail Store, (410) 219-9072 and Salvation Army, (410) 749-8146.
Automotive parts, copper, aluminum, and brass are accepted at Decker Brothers Recycling, (410) 572-5600. Motor Oil and Anti-Freeze are accepted at the County Landfill, (410) 548-4935.
Concrete, brick, some asphalt, and most masonry products are accepted at Modern Industries, (410) 742-2851.

Plastic Grocery Bags are accepted at Acme, Giant, Super Fresh and Food Lion.
