Delmarva Power Urges Customers to Support Good Neighbor Fund this Winter Heating Season

This winter heating season, Delmarva Power customers are encouraged to support the area?s needy families by making a donation to the Good Neighbor Energy Fund.

The annual fund drive, which helps eligible families pay their energy bills, kicked off this month with pre-addressed envelopes included in Delmarva Power customers? bills. Contributions are tax-deductible and matched by Delmarva Power which contributes one dollar for every three dollars donated by others.

Delmarva Power founded the fund nearly 30 years ago. Through the years, the fund has raised nearly $6 million and has helped more than 70,000 families in Delaware and
Maryland with their energy bills.

The Good Neighbor Energy Fund is administered by the Salvation Army.

"Many families struggle to pay their energy bills, particularly when the weather is extremely cold for an extended period of time," said Delmarva Power regional Vice President John Allen. "That's why this partnership involving the utility, our customers and the Salvation Army is an important way to help those in need."

To apply for energy assistance from the Good Neighbor Energy Fund, customers should contact their local Salvation Army Office, which receives both personal and corporate contributions made to the fund.
